La Fiocco is devoted to performing music of the 17th and 18th century music on period instruments. The group takes its name from the South Netherlands composer Joseph Hector Fiocco (1703-1741). La Fiocco has its regular concert series in Princeton, NJ, and Solebury, PA, and performs also in Philadelphia and New York City. With over 30 nationally-known early music performers on its roster, La Fiocco is gaining national attention. Core artists include artistic director Lewis Baratz, baroque violinists Claire Smith Bermingham, Dan McCarthy, and Linda Kistler, gambist/baroque cellist Vivian Barton Dozor, and harpsichordist Benjamin Berman. These artists are frequently joined by other nationally-known early music professionals, including William Thauer, baroque oboe and recorder, and Allen Hamrick, dulcian and baroque bassoon.
