The Engelchor Consort is an early-music ensemble specializing in medieval and Renaissance music. The group of five Princeton area women has been performing together for more than 20 years at events ranging from lecture/demonstrations at area schools and colleges, to their annual concert as part of the Princeton University Art Museum gallery series.

Viola da gamba, recorder and voice are enhanced when appropriate by other early instruments such as vielle, harp, psaltery, gittern and percussion.

Members of the group are Patricia Hlafter, viola da gamba, vielle, recorder and voice; Elizabeth Horn, voice, viola da gamba and recorder; Mary Elizabeth Stewart, recorder and percussion; Mary Benton, viola da gamba, vielle, plucked strings and recorder, and Sue Parisi, recorder.

Recorder players of all levels are invited to the Highland Park Recorder Society's first monthly Recorder Playing Session of 2017, on Monday, January 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Parlor room of the Reformed Church of Highland Park, NJ, 19 South Second Avenue in Highland Park.  There is free parking in back of the church which may be accessed via Magnolia Street. ADA handicapped accessible.  Other sessions this seasons open to all recorder players will be held on the following Mondays:  Feb 6 (Maestro Robert Butts), March 6 (Lewis R. Baratz), Apr 3 (TBD), May 1 (John Burkhalter), and June 5 (TBD).
