LA FIOCCO**: Music of the English Restoration through the Age of William III and Mary II (1660 -1702)

Sunday, June 5, 2011, 4:00 PM. 

Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Road, Solebury (Bucks County), PA. 

This very special special concert will present works of Playford, Locke, Lawes, Purcell, and contemporaries by composers living during the Interregnum, Restoration, and the Age of William III and Mary II.  The featured work will be An Ode, on the Death of Mr. Henry Purcell, John Blow's magnificent setting of the tribute to Purcell by John Dryden, 1696.

Diana Whitener, soprano, Joseph Hill & Nicholas Tamanga, countertenors, Reid Powell, tenor, with Lewis R. Baratz & Antonio Arosemena, recorders, Rachel Evans, baroque violin, Lynn Fergusson, viola da gamba, David Little, harpsichord, Richard Kolb, archlute and theorbo, David Walker, cittern, and baroque guitar.  $20 general admission; $16 seniors, $12 students (at the door, cash purchases only).  Visit, www.lafiocco.org

Recorder players of all levels are invited to the Highland Park Recorder Society's* Recorder Playing Session on Monday, May 8, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM in the Parlor room of the Reformed Church of Highland Park, NJ, 19 South Second Avenue in Highland Park. There is free parking in back of the church which may be accessed via Magnolia Street. ADA handicapped accessible.  Maestro Robert Butts is our guest conductor for this event.

Our final open playing session for this season will be on June 5th, with guest conductor Mr. John Burkhalter III.
