La Fiocco** Presents, Two-in-One: Secular and Sacred Chamber Music of the High Baroque
First Reformed Church - New Brunswick, NJ, 8:00 PM

The theme of our concert is "Two-in-One," an allusion to Henry Purcell's famous "Two in One upon a Ground," for two recorders and a repeating ("ground") bass, played on harpsichord and viola da gamba. Telemann's Pentacost Cantata "Zischet nur, stechet, ihr feurigen Zungen" featuring countertenor Joseph Hill, Gaspard Le Roux's Suite in D minor for two harpsichords (1705) with harpischordists Lewis R. Baratz and Benjamin Berman. Also songs by Henry Purcell, and chamber works by Blavet, Telemann, Handel, and Quantz.

La Fiocco** presents:  Shakespeare's London in Music & Song.  Join us for this extravaganza of rarely-performed music from the Age of Shakespeare.  Artistic Director Lewis R. Baratz has assembled an all-star cast of period instrument musicians who will be featured in the "Broken Consort" Lessons of Thomas Morley, a composer associated with Shakespeare and Elizabeth I.  Young artists Nicole Renna (Temple University) and Samuel Cox (Princeton University) will perform songs from the plays.  Rare instruments such as the cittern, bandora, and renaissance guitar will be featured as well.
