Autumn Benefit - Monteverdi in Venice with Julianne Baird
A Celebration of Music, Food & Friendship
The Dryden Ensemble's autumn benefit, "Monteverdi in Venice," will feature soprano Julianne Baird in Lamento d'Arianna, the only aria that survives from Monteverdi's lost opera. She will also perform his Laudate Dominum, a number of the Scherzi musicali and Luigi Rossi's cantata Il gelosia.  Hear Vita Wallace and Mark Zaki on baroque violins, Jane McKinley on recorder, Lisa Terry on baroque cello, and Daniel Swenberg on lute and theorbo. The program also includes Mont'Albano's Sonata in D Minor for solo violin and continuo and lute solos by Piccinini and Kapsberger.  Space is limited & reservations are required.

The intimate concert will be followed by a buffet dinner with fine Italian food and wines and a silent auction at an Italian Revival mansion in Princeton.

$150 per person. Reservations required. To receive an invitation,  please call 609-466-8541 or email DrydenEns@aol.com
