Cantus Novus is an auditioned chamber choir of 40 members based in Bucks County. Founded in 2000 as an intimate group of choral friends, Cantus Novus has grown to be an established musical presence in the Delaware Valley. Their musical focus can best be described as “roots and wings,” with programming spanning several centuries, honoring their “roots,” the rich a cappella choral tradition of the motets of the Renaissance — while their “wings” present audiences with wide-ranging musical offerings from the best of contemporary composers. Under the artistic direction of W. Edward McCall, they perform regularly in venues throughout Bucks County and elsewhere in the Delaware Valley.
