The Gloria Consort
The Gloria Consort was formed in 1994 to explore the solo and small chamber ensemble literature of the European late Renaissance and Baroque eras. Cornettist and recorder soloist Orum Stringer, viola da gambist Amy Warren, and harpsichordist Ernest Meyer are the basic ensemble. For specific programs, distinguished artists are asked to join in to perform larger works for up to five players. This season, Odessa Balan, Baroque violin, and Steven Moise, recorder are guest artists.
The Gloria Consort has played an annual concert in the Lake Afton Concert Series sponsored by St. Andrew's Church, Yardley for ten years. They have also appeared in concerts in Philadelphia at the Trinity Center for Urban Life, in Princeton at Westminster Choir College (now part of Rider University), The College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College), The 1753 Bachmann House in Easton, PA, and other venues in the Delaware Valley.
