The Engelchor Consort
The Engelchor Consort is an early music ensemble specializing in medieval
and renaissance music. The group of five Princeton area women has been
performing together for more than twenty years at events ranging from
lecture/demonstrations at area schools and colleges to their annual concert as
part of the Princeton University Art Museum gallery series.
Viola da gamba, recorder and voice are enhanced when appropriate by other
early instruments such as vielle, harp, psaltery, gittern and percussion.
Members of the group are Patricia Hlafter, viola da gamba, vielle, recorder and
voice; Elizabeth Horn, voice, viola da gamba and recorder; Mary Elizabeth
Stewart, recorder and percussion; Mary Benton, viola da gamba, vielle,
plucked strings and recorder and Sue Parisi, recorder.
