Guild for Early Music Serving central New Jersey and eastern central Pennsylvania
The Delaware River Consort
Maureen Kyle, soprano Lisa Carmalt, alto Larry Parker, tenor Jacques Lebel, bass
Since its founding in 1983, the Delaware River Consort has shared its unique musical blend at over 45 historic and artistic venues throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The group's repertoire consists of secular and sacred music of the fifteenth through twentieth centuries, with an emphasis on the Renaissance and Early American periods. Individually tailored programs with an ethnic, historical, or holiday theme are offered. Occasionally, light commentary and colorful period costumes are added by special request.
In addition to performing a cappella, the Consort has appeared frequently with early instrument ensembles including La Spirita, Engelchor Consort, and Spectra Musica. An appearance in the South Jersey Symphony Orchestra's subscription series was one of the group's many highlights. A past grant recipient of the New Jersey Council on the Arts through the Mercer County Cultural & Heritage Commission, the Consort is a non-profit corporation.
