*Practitioners of Musick - The Practitioners of Musick, John Burkhalter,
recorders, Gavin Black, harpsichord, and David Black, ‘cello will present a
program of works by Italian and English Baroque masters, including Veracini,
Mancini, John L’oeillet, and Mr. Handel. The concert to take place at 4:00 PM
at Christ Congregation, 50 Walnut Lane, Princeton, NJ. This event is

*Practitioners of Musick - The Practitioners of Musick John Burkhalter,
recorders, and Gavin Black, harpsichord, evoke the glory of Restoration
England with works of Purcell, Croft, Blow, Finger, and Matteis. This program
is part of the Midtown Concert Series sponsored by ARTEK. The music to

Friday and Saturday, March 7th & 8th

Quartet New Generation - Berlin-based Quartet New Generation—Susanne
Fröhlich, Andrea Guttmann, Hannah Pape, and Heide Schwarz—mesmerizes
its audiences through innovative programming that juxtaposes contemporary
and early music. Performing on upwards of 20 different recorders of varying
sizes and shapes during the course of a typical performance, the Quartet
transports the listener into new sonic worlds, confirming the traditional
recorder’s viability as a modern classical instrument. 8:00pm, Wolfensohn
Hall, Institute for Advanced Studies, Einstein Drive, Princeton, NJ. Tickets are
free for these concerts, and the Institute makes available as many tickets as

Saturday, March 8th

* Le Triomphe de l'amour - Music and Magical Creatures. Laura Heimes,
soprano, Donna Fournier, viola da gamba, Janet Palumbo, harpsichord, John
Burkhalter, recorder, with guest artist, Elissa Wagman, baroque violin. The
music for this concert includes works involving sorceresses, fairies, and other
magic creatures. Music by Handel, Couperin, and others will be performed. A
pre-concert talk, by John Burkhalter, beginning at 7:30 PM, will explore the
presence of magical creatures in music and art. The concert to begin at 8:00
PM at the Unitarian Church at Princeton, 50 Cherry Valley Road, Princeton,
NJ. Tickets may be had at the door for $18.00 general admission, $15.00 for
senior citizens, and $5.00 for students.

*Practitioners of Musick - Practitioner of Musick John Burkhalter, recorder,
and Nicholas Lockey, harpsichord, will present a program entitled “A Taste for
Things Italian: Handel, London and Italy. Music by the following masters to be
heard: Mr. Handel, Francesco Maria Veracini, and Benedetto Marcello. The
free concert sponsored by Musica Alta and the Friends of Music at Princeton
will take place at Taplin Auditorium in Fine Hall in the Princeton University
